Class 5

Class 5 - workingOur class is the Y6/5 class. All of Year 6 and the oldest Year 5s live here. There are 29 of us in total. 12 girls and 17 boys.

We have lots of responsibilities around the school:

  • playground leaders
  • bell and milk monitors
  • reading buddies with younger children
  • School Council leaders

Our main task this year is to get ourselves ready for going to High School next September.

Our teacher is Mr Massey, the Deputy Headteacher and our assistants are Mrs Littlewood and Mrs Lucas.

Some of our topics this year are:

  • The Victorians/A Local Study - History
  • Mountain environments/Rivers - Geography
  • Rugby - PE
  • Athletics - PE
  • Cricket - PE
  • Soft Toys and Fairground rides - DT

We like to go outside school to enhance our studies and this year we are going to: Outdoor pursuits - Residential at Kingswood Staffordshire and Penistone, The National Mining Museum for England, Leeds Grand Theatre to see Oliver, Sheffield to spend the day as Victoria School Children, The Lifewise Centre in Rotherham to take part in Crucial Crew, taking part in role plays organised by South Yorkshire Police and Fire Services. Other trips will be arranged.
